Previously I had issues with the PAL version of Skies of Arcadia with recording. Primarily because the PAL version didn't support VGA output (why they made this decision I have no idea).
But, I've finally tested the NTSC version and the VGA outputs just as well as other games.

This isn't blown up with an OSSC or output using DCHDMI, the current Dreamcast I use is modded to be region free and output at 60Hz on a PAL console with no other mods, so outputs video at the base settings.

In the future I can see myself getting another Dreamcast with DCHDMI and an ODE (probably no region unlock, because it would be pointless).

If you were to combine it with an mClassic it would output nicely at 1080p, and whilst it wouldn't be as nice as the combo at 480p (or the doubled 960P) it would still be a noticable upgrade from the "base" Dreamcast that I'm essentially playing on.

Expect me to stream this probably at the end of March, after I've finished Npetunia Virtual Stars, and Re: Zero - Starting Life In Another World: The Prophecy Of The Throne.

Skies of Arcadia is one of the many RPGs I missed out on from my teenage years. I only really played Pokemon and a few Final Fantasy games until I was brave enough to venture into other series as an adult. One of my school friends had this on Gamecube along with Tales of Symphonia, and whilst I liked the look of both, I wasn't brave enough to drop my pocket money on either.

This was, and probably still is his favourite RPG and overall game.
It's by the same team behind Phantasy Star, and it has quite a unique setting for a jRPG. I can see myself enjoying this quite a lot.

It's a shame that neither version got a Steam release to be honest, because I would've experienced this a lot sooner. It would hold up well with a HD Remaster in the same way Grandia I & II do.

SEGA have been quite good in previous generations with porting their games over to newer systems, and they've begun putting a lot on Steam too. It's a possibility I guess, and probably one of the most requested SEGA games to get a rerelease or even a sequel.
