Lupin the Third Part 1 Retrospective & Review | Legacy of Lupin
In this episode of Legacy of Lupin, we take a look at the first animated TV series Lupin the Third Part 1. After creating a pilot film in 1969, TMS hope to secure funding for a Lupin III movie — which, unfortunately, didn't happen. But after recutting the pilot for TV, they got a buyer in Yomiuri Television and in 1971, Lupin III Part 1 made its debut. It suffered from poor ratings throughout and experienced a major directorial change midway through development, but it did well enough in reruns to ensure that Lupin would continue in anime form. So let's look back and see if Part I is still worth checking out 50 years later. #LupinIII #LupinIIIPartI #LupintheThird
