Today, we look at the Paper Mario game that many say is where the series began losing its edge in this Sticker Star retrospective. Whereas Super Paper Mario changed up the formula while still keeping the RPG roots and focus on storytelling intact, Sticker Star stripped all of that away to redirect the Paper Mario series into a more conventional space. This has partially contributed to Sticker Star's controversial reputation as the game where the series nosedived in quality.
