M2 Bradley - Tank History and Review
The M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) / M3 Bradley Cavalry Fighting Vehicle (CFV) has been the backbone of the US Army's mechanized infantry force for over 20 years now. Beginning as a project conceived in the 60s, the Bradley program was massively delayed, overbudget, and there were many who were concerned that it couldn't stand up to the competition. It even got to center in a comedy movie about government bureaucracy, Pentagon Wars. Despite its apparently lackluster performance on paper, the Bradley proved to be an effective combat vehicle in the Gulf War and beyond. Armed with a 25mm Bushmaster cannon and TOW missile launcher, the Bradley packs a reasonable punch while also carrying a squad of six dismounts. Though the Bradley has served well, it's perhaps a bit long in the tooth, and much like the M1 Abrams, due for a replacement soon.
