Steps:

Start by clicking the ‘Apple logo’ in the top left corner.

Choose ‘system preferences’ from the menu that appears.

In system preferences choose ‘dock & menu bar’.

Click ‘screen mirroring’ from the left sidebar menu.

Now just click ‘show in menu bar’ so that the checkbox is checked.

If you click on ‘when active’ you can choose whether you want screen mirroring to show just when it is active or always.

When show in menu bar is turned off, you can always get to screen mirroring from the control panel.

Tap the control panel icon on the right of the menu bar. Screen mirroring is here on the right.
