Apple's latest MacBook Pros with discrete graphics (NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M) features automatic graphics switching, but at what cost? Some apps, Tweetie and iPhoto, don't require a discrete graphics chip yet automatically turns it on while in use. This can affect inversely affect the newly improved battery life. Fortunately, you can view the current graphics processor being used in System Profiler.
