"Have you ever forgotten to eat? Not for a day, nor weeks, but months.

Music is the food of the soul.

And Im starving." -DBT

That's what I said yesterday when I found myself needing to play something. I heard this song a couple weeks back, and I got obsessed. Much like my other Regina Spektor cover (Chemo Limo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgRpq5I6MCs ), I got obsessed with the song and I couldnt rest thinking I wanted so bad to play it.

Im still planning to do some other covers, but for now, this one was priority one.

The original song is awesome, but I wanted to give it a personal touch; more in the metal side, but not extremely heavy. I wanted to give it a mechanical sound overall, and since the vocals are quite hard for me, it was the perfect pretext to use some voice filters and such to make it sound machine/cyborg-esque. I also used some new techniques I recently learned in the recording software. To be honest, all in all, to be a home recording in a gaming desktop computer (rather than an "audio studio" one) I loved the equalization. Hell, I even managed to hide most of the bass buzzing, which was awful.

The image used is called "Android Legacy :: Messenger II" and can be found here:

...which was made by Oliver Wetter. You can see his deviant art profile here:

I really enjoyed recording this one, and hell, it took me long enough (well over 14 hrs) for such a short song. I guess Im getting pickier, but I seriously loved the end result.
