In Batman: Arkham Asylum

I mentioned this in an older video, but it's too intriguing not to revisit—there was a villain cut very early in the game's development: the Mad Hatter.

Although he appears in later Arkham games, according to the game's writer Paul Dini, the Mad Hatter was initially planned to team up with Poison Ivy in the Botanical Gardens.

In this boss fight, Batman would find himself trapped in a hedge maze. While trying to escape, Poison Ivy would use her plants to hinder his progress.

However, Rocksteady felt this idea didn't fit the game's tone. In the final version, all that remains is Mad Hatter's picnic in the Botanical Gardens, possibly a nod to the original concept.

It's unfortunate that the Mad Hatter isn't featured in every Batman Arkham game, as he's a compelling villain with memorable levels. Even though they are short, they stand out, and having him in the main story would have been fascinating.
