I wouldn't describe Allumer as one of the all-time greats when it comes to coin-ops, but they really knocked it out of the park with Mad Shark. This vertical shoot 'em up has the looks, AND it has the gameplay - three different weapons which each have their own strengths and weaknesses, variation in enemy ship patterns based on the player's position, great graphics, and a decent soundtrack; what's not to like?
