Quiktrip - Morning Groove - Promo. The delicious grab-and-go offerings at QuikTrip are brought to life with a whimsical tale of a hero, drowsy from the morning, who becomes energized after grabbing his fresh coffee and hot meal. Directing the animation for this grid-based story was a lot of fun, especially in discovering unique motions to propel the narrative forward from one grid to the next. The majority of the animation was expertly handled by the very talented Mathijs Luijten, all within After Effects. I personally worked on two shots: showcasing the deal items with the hands, and the transition from the face to the car interior. PenPal 2 from @aescripts was incredibly helpful for animating the faces and managing all the vectors.
