Madness is a platform/collector game similar to Manic Miner, Blagger and other titles. It happens to be one of the best that I've played, too.

The objective is to activate each of the red switches in the level and to make it to the "Out" platform, all the while avoiding colliding with the various flying enemies.

The game is challenging mainly because you are against the clock, so you must plot the most efficient route around the level, activating switches along the way. The character moves swiftly and the controls are responsive; the game is not another "China Miner".

I never did understand why games of this type have such bizarre enemies. Was it a prerequisite for the designer to be coked up on class A substances before designing these things?

There isn't much else to say about this, other than it is very playable, good fun and that the music by Chris Hülsbeck is excellent.
