Notes:
In the 'general explanation' section, each pause indicates a new jump. It may be obvious to some but I just want to make sure no one is confused.

I said "If you do [press space and CTRL at the same time as your third input] you will move much quicker than you would if you delayed CTRL, but in turn you can't control your direction after you leave the springboard; you just shoot straight at where you're looking..."
If you look up, you will not go upwards. Only your horizontal camera angle has an effect here.

Also, another reason as to why my magboost was slightly slower in the attempt at 0:22 was because the time between me pressing space (as the third input) and me pressing CTRL was a bit longer than other attempts.
