In industrial automation, the established way of collecting data from industrial equipment has many issues. Issues for which various Apache projects provide a number of great ways to avoid them. In this talk, I want to demonstrate some of the issues I have seen out in the field and how we can resolve all of them with combinations of some of the amazing projects the Apache Software Foundation has to offer. - Using Apache PLC4X to collect data on (legacy) automation hardware - Using Apache TsFile for distributed data collection via unreliable networks - Using Apache TsFile for data-collection on industrial hardware such as PLCs - Using Apache IoTDB as central data-hub for building the next generation of high-performance OT software
