I've noticed that there are almost no TAS-es of any Magical Drop games on YouTube (I think I found like one Magical Drop 3 TAS video, and that was it), so I decided to try doing a TAS of one.

Strangely, this game seems to be highly resistant to tool-assistance. It tends to desync quite easily, and replaying the exact same movie file multiple times without changing anything else sometimes produces different results. Take this run, for instance. I was lucky to have it not desync as I made it into an .avi file, but then I played the movie again, and it read one of my movements wrong somewhere, resulting in a premature Game Over. Replaying the movie file more times sometimes results in it malfunctioning in different spots, and only occasionally playing properly. (Of course, maybe it's just ZSNES that's derping on me.)

Alright, so this TAS plays the marathon mode on the highest difficulty, and clears the board numerous times for the 70,000 clear bonus. Then, when my score hit 9,999,999, I intentionally ended the game at that point, only to have my score show up as 10,069,999 on the high score table. I guess, for some odd reason, the 70,000 clear bonus ignores the cap (if I made another match and then suicided, my score would then instead be the expected 9,999,999). And, seeing how the high score table displays the 8-digit score properly, I wonder how high I could've gotten it if it weren't for the cap... (Of course, it's possible that the score would've rolled over at 16,777,216 (2^24), which might've been a good reason to cap it at 7 digits.)

Oh, and in case you're wondering, the other score showing on the high score table (with my usual "SRA" initials) is something I accomplished while playing normally at a lower difficulty level a long time ago.

Also, I have no idea was World is saying before and after the game. If anyone wants to try translating that dialog, then go right ahead.
