The Department of Home Affairs is set to unveil major reforms to the visa system aimed at stopping “grotesque” exploitation of foreign workers.
Following the extensive investigation into human trafficking by 60 Minutes, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, the changes will address foreign worker and student exploitation, and rorting and delays in the migration and visa system.
Border force agents have also swooped on crime boss Binjun Xie, the alleged Sydney-based human trafficking kingpin who has been on the run since he was exposed in the Trafficked investigation in October.
