This game uses the Japanese (13 tiles) Mahjong rules, for details on this game check http://nenriki86.blogspot.com.ar/2014/03/mah-jong-1983.html or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh0brmqq4sk
There are 9 levels in this game, you have $1500 at the start of every level (dangerously low for people familiar with Japanese Mahjong), the opponent start with $15k and increases by $5000 per level after second level, maxing out at $50k at level 9
An interesting feature in this game is the notion of POWER points - at random points in the game, picking up a tile will also add some POWER points to your tally, and at the end of each round you have an option of choosing a special Yaku hand for the next round (40~80% complete on deal**, a bit like picking a flush hand in Poker and you're dealt 3 or 4 Diamonds cards)
If you successfully complete a level, you will go into a bonus level where you're presented with a "Ready/Riichi" hand of Flush variety (清一色), you have to, within time limit*, choose the correct tile(s) that could win the hand. If you're successful, you get a +100 boost to your POWER
* - this game did not have a CPU Cycle lock, so on modern computers, even with DOS-Box, you get less than 0.2 seconds to complete the bonus game unless you reduce the CPU Cycle to less than 200 - even on older computers, namely my 1994 Compaq laptop, the bonus level lasted some 0.6 seconds.
** - except instant-win hands (天和) which costs 1000 POWER Points, as of now (about 3 tries) has a zero % of success - but you always get Double-reach/天聽 in any case
