49Music: Outset Island from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
A short little documentary of the building process of my outset island foam diorama!
Some facts about this project:
I am a beginner sculptor and painter, and this was my first time ever sculpting anything. I made many many many many mistakes, and it shows.
I would NOT recommend this project to any beginner. I bit off WAY more than I could chew with this one.
It is based on the sculpture made by Adam from @NorthoftheBorder who inspired me to do this thing in the first place. And that one is of course based on the original design from Zelda: The Wind Waker on the GameCube.
It took me roughly 6 months to complete this build, on-and-off.
I almost gave up at one point after messing up with casting the epoxi resin (the water), but I kept going and fortunately it turned out alright in the end anyways.
I learned a ton and it was (mostly) a fun time working on it!
