“Rain in an Oak Forest” was painted in 1891 by Russian artist, Ivan Shishkin. Shishkin paintd many of his most well-known landscapes within the woods around his home. I find myself particularly drawn to Shishkin's paintings because the forest itself feels like a second home to me.

I actually started working on this one quite a while ago but wasn't happy with the final result and abandoned it, only to stumble upon the map again today and decided to add a few more details to achieve what I intended previously.

Challenges with this one included NOT HAVING ANY OAK TREE ASSETS, so I merged pine with birch to create something similar. In particular I had a lot of fun coming up with a way to recreate the appearance of people walking in the rain with the appropriate clothing on...
