Making the Switch to Natural Deodorant | Successful Detox, How-To, and Tips
2Hello! This video includes three sections: why you should make the switch to natural deodorant, how the switch went for me, and also some tips and advice about how to make your own switch to natural deodorant a successful one.
One thing I didn't mention in my video is that, partway through my detox period, my armpits got very rough in texture and they felt irritated. I can't be sure whether this was part of the detox process, because it can be, or if it was because the first natural deodorant I tried had a lot of baking soda, which was personally too rough for me. This is kind of two things to be aware of in one: it is possible to get a rash due to your armpits detoxing, but it will clear up, as mine did, and it is possible that natural deodorants that contain baking soda are too abrasive for your skin. Luckily there are plenty of options that don't contain any baking soda.
I also wanted to post an update 2 years later: I mentioned that my sweat patterns changed, and I sweat more from my head, but that is now no longer the case. I would say, in general, I am less sweaty now than I was when I was using aluminum deodorant, but I have gone back to sweating, primarily, from my underarms, and no longer my head.
