158First before we get this started i want to say that im sure you guys know this fight was frustrating. I think most of the frustation dealth with three things
first this is your hp doesnt fully recover cause theres a bug with the bosses attack so if he kills you you actually dont get all your health look at our hp when we respawn because of the boss and the bug this game has with him we dont have our full hp. Second thing is this fight was really annoying because of how long it took to travel back to start the fight they should put a closer statue cause it takes 40 seconds to travel after load times so about a minute+ to restart the fight but yeah if you guys phase this boss look at your hp before you leave the fire place. The last thing is the auto targeting in this fight isnt great you lose target pretty frequent with how much the boss moves and going from pillars. They should just make auto targets on boss fights permenant, but that will be a seperate discussion. Lets Discuss Talismans
1st Talisman I really like is Turtle Talisman for stam recovery i really love this.
2nd Talisman Is Pearl Drake For Non Damage Mitigation for phase 2
3rd Talisman is just more equip load to use heavier armor so either Erdtrees Favor or Arsenal Charm is a good option
4th Talisman I believe the flam is fire based damage but to be honest i dont know but i put Flamedrake you can put something else that can garantee survivability whether its a Max Hp Talisman and so on because this boss will reduce your max hp
phase 1 you face the boss as the beast clergyman and he has a few attacks. you will be blocking most of the combos attacks he does or steering clear but there will be certain attacks you will fish for to do your damage
1st set of attacks are the raising hand slams. if he raises his dagger and slams it to the ground thats the only hit you need to worry about and you can get a hit in right after
if he raises his empty hand and slams it to the groun he will lift his hand up and do a beastial aoe slash attack. You will roll this and get one hit in. If your quick enough you can get a hit prior to the slash coming out then rolling as well so you can get 2 potentially. 1 to play safe. The next set of attacks are the rock throws. he has 3 pebble rocks throws. you can roll and attack him on all these or block and attack him and be safe for the most part if done right
theres one where he flexes his bicept like hes posing and waits to throw it, you can wait a bit before rolling and attack him during this. the next one is he side steps and throws rocks he usually does this one after palm slam down aoe slash attack we mentioned earlier. the last one is the same as this but without a side step he just does it. like mentioned if your close enough even if you dont roll it and block it you can get one hit in.
Phase 2 beast clergyman transforms into Malekith The Black Blade. In this phase if he catches you with fire he will reduce your max hp cap so be mindful on being topped off just cause he will handicap you. this fight does have a lot of targeting issues so you'll have to be careful but the pillars will be your friend for healing and avoiding some attacks ill discuss. Right off the bat at the start of the this phase he will always do a jump slash this is your time to get a hit or 2 in (depending on weapon) im using the blood hound curved sword. one attack your gonna care about to get a free hit in is the one where he does this overhead slash attack you can avoid this and get a quick hit in his body will still be low to the ground which is gonna be different from this next attack which is easy to spot. There is one attack where he will slam down and explode and jump back. The jump distance of him going back after the sword explosion is always the same so you can actually go to the location he's going to land for a free hit. Theres another attack where he will jump in the air and throw 3 waves of blades and on the 4th he will dive slash to you. The timing of the quickness is pretty similar he just delays thems. theres 2 ways you can do to avoid this. first you can try to roll all 4 attacks. Second the preferred option i suggesst is go behind the pillar looks at his animations and count how many slash waves he did and roll the final attack where he dives in
