12After arriving as a simple Gamejolt demo a few years ago, the indie game 'Mana Spark' now sees it's full release on Steam on 27/09/18! What better time to put the game to the test and review Mana Spark in our 'Voltage-Review'?

Now the question... What is Mana Spark? Well...Mana Spark is a heavy skill-based, procedural generated dungeon rogue-like in an interesting pixel-art style that constantly has you coming back for more. Delve into the dungeon depths, find out what happened to your people, and try to survive enemies that work together in surprising ways. Learn their patterns and discover their weakness before they'll find yours. Can you uncover the dark secrets of the Architect?
Mana Spark features skill-based combat, which requires you to think before you act. Several enemies gain extra attacks if they are allowed to work together, making them even more dangerous, meaning that your own skill to take these enemies out will be of great importance.
The permanent progression system allows you to slowly improve your character by unlocking extra weapons and buffs to your arsenal.
And finally... the handcrafted and procedural generation of the dungeon floors makes every run a completely new experience.

NOTE: I have NOT been paid to play or advertise this game. The developers did give me a steam key to help them find bugs in the early alpha stage, but all the enthusiasm you see is completely genuine. ^w^
►►How is the Voltage-Score calculated?►►
It's actually very simple. The game is given points across 7 different categories. Visuals, Overall Story, Level Design, Timescale, Audio, Gameplay and Enjoyment.
For every category, the game is capable of scoring 0 points, half a point or a full point.
0 points= There are too many flaws, or the subject is completely missing from the game.
0,5 points= I think the game did well enough, but not good enough to receive a full volt point. Some flaws are present which are important enough to stop the game from receiving the full point.
1 point= I'm really satisfied with how well the game did in this category. Little to no remarks and a well deserved point.
After the points for the different categories are known we calculated the VOLTAGE-score in a X-out of-10 score. It won't be the same like any other review that uses the 10/10 scoring system, cause I want to do something different my these reviews. Keep in mind that this style of reviewing is subjective to my own opinion. Some games might score higher than others. I look at what the game has to offer, and judge it on that. A game can also score very high on some parts, but can receive 0 points for story in case the game is created without one in mind. I've handpicked these 7 different categories as my 'top-7', and to give you a better understanding of the game's contents. Do you disagree with a certain score that I gave? That is perfectly fine.
