To begin, this week we have absolutely no official information from Disney or Lucasfilm about the length of the episode or the chapter 13 title. We’ve now also seen all of the scenes from the trailer, meaning this episode and the rest of the season will be completely new, and probably pretty crazy. The fact that we have seen absolutely no footage from past episode 4 is a great sign that things are going to get completely crazy, and that we might be getting some huge character reveals, even past Ahsoka and Boba Fett.
Now we did get a potential episode length leaked by the German FSK, which is basically Germany’s movie and TV ratings agency. According to their website, The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 4 will run for 45 minutes and 23 seconds, which would make this the longest episode of the Mandalorian that Dave Filloni has directed. This does of course make a lot of sense as it will be the episode featuring Ahsoka, Dave would certainly want as much runtime as possible to develop her character in live action and move her story forward. I’m not sure if the run time listed on the German FSK website includes credits, the intro or the recap, but I’m hoping that it doesn’t and we get a solid 45 straight minutes of deep storytelling from Dave Filloni.
Following this, we did also get a potential leak of the title for the Episode, which was “Mandalorian Chapter 13, The Jedi”. This is definitely a reference to Ahsoka, even though she is obviously no longer a Jedi.
Because Ahsoka is not a Jedi anymore the title could be referring to two possible plot points.
The first and probably most likely is that the title is referring to what Din Djarin believes Ahsoka is. He would of course have idea that Ahsoka chose to leave the Jedi Order after being wrongly accused of attacking the temple during the Clone Wars, and therefore would still believe that she is part of the Order of Sorcerers known as Jedi, just as the armorer told him last season.
The other possibility is that Ahsoka is finally aligning herself with the Jedi order once more, and maybe is moving back towards their teachings. She might even attempt to make contact with Luke and assist in the creation of his new Jedi order sometime in the future.
So following this, lets get right into the predictions for the Episode.
To Start off, I think Mando and the Child will certainly be landing on the Forest World of Corvus, where we will finally meet Ahsoka Tano in live action for the first time ever.
Although Bo-Katan did say that Ahsoka was located in the City of Calodan on Corvus, I think it’s more likely that Mando and the Child will find her hiding out in the forests of the planet, possibly evading a threat or attempting to watch over the city and protect it from mercenaries.
As for the reason why Ahsoka is on Corvus and not somewhere more familiar in the Galaxy, it could really be for many reasons. It could even be one of the locations that she has been led to on her hunt for Ezra Bridger with Sabine Wren if they are still searching for him. As much as I would love to see Sabine and Ezra make an appearance in this episode, I don’t think we’ll hear from them just yet, or maybe at all in this season of the Mando. I think the more likely place for them to appear in live action would be their own show, or the Rebels sequel which is rumoured to already be in production at Lucasfilm. But let me know down in the comments below if you think Sabine Wren or Ezra Bridger will appear this season, or do you think Dave Filloni is saving their stories for the Rebels Sequel or their own standalone show?
