Developed and Published by Tripwire Interactive, Maneater is an action game where you play as a shark who terrorizes everything from little turtles, to Orca Whales and of course, humans. You're out on a quest for revenge as a Cajun Shark Hunter named Scaly Pete murdered your mother. Throughout the journey you take out other hunters as well as beach goers, fisherman, various sea life and apex predators such as Great White's and whales. As you complete quests you gain EXP which can be used to upgrade your shark with different abilities and over time your shark will grow in size allowing you to take on larger enemies.
This game was a ton of fun. There's not much to it. Most missions are the same. Go here, kill X amount of things and repeat. Eventually you'll draw the attention of hunters which is where the carnage really comes into play and where I had the most fun. Despite the repetition, I found the loop extremely satisfying similar to when you go on rampages in games like Grand Theft Auto. The game is narrated by the great Chris Parnell which is an added bonus. Recommend this game to anyone looking for dumb, mindless fun.
