Manhattan Requiem is an adventure game created by Riverhill Soft, originally released in 1987 for the PC-88, X1, X68000 and MSX home computers. It was later remade for the LaserActive in 1993, which featured this jazz soundtrack composed by Hiroaki Iwatani. The later Windows 95 rerelease also features a version of this soundtrack.
Manhattan Requiem is the second game in the J.B. Harold series of adventure games by Riverhill Soft. The first game in the series, Murder Club, previously received a Turbo Duo remake in 1991 as a CD-ROM² game. The fourth game in the series, Blue Chicago Blues, would later be released in 1994 as a LaserActive exclusive before being ported to other hardware.
After this 1993 release of Manhattan Requiem, this remake was later ported to Windows 95. A later remake for mobile phones in 2004 and the DS in 2008 features different artwork and music and also bundles in a remake of its 1987 expansion Kiss of a Murder. The DS remake, sans Kiss of a Murder, was ported to iOS in 2010; this iOS version was the only other version of the game to include the LaserActive version's English script.
