Maniac Mansion - PC - Full Playthrough - Dave, Bernard & Razor (Semi-Blind)
0A full, first time playthrough, of Maniac Mansion, using Dave, Bernard and Razor. I’ve been wanting to give this a try, as it’s one of the earliest LucasArts adventures. This version was actually free with an Amazon Prime subscription. I believe it’s the original 1987 version (there have been a few ports and enhancements since) and it’s running on ScummVM.
It’s a point n’ clicker, where you guide your three characters around the mansion, in an attempt to save Sandy, who’s been kidnapped and locked in the basement. It’s a challenging adventure, full of fairly cryptic solutions and dead ends. Once I learned there were dead ends, I looked them up to save wandering about aimlessly, but other than that, this was beat without a guide or walkthrough. There are a few parts where I reloaded my save due to a dead end or dying, so the gameplay will be mostly blind, with a few parts that aren’t. If I reloaded a save, the part after the last save has been spliced out.
I'll be playing through it twice more, using the other characters, as there are a few different solutions.
