Fighting Fantasy: Creature of Havoc - PC - Attempt One (Blind)
A first attempt at completing the Tin Man Games port of Creature of Havoc. This adventure gamebook was originally released on paperback in 1986. I'd never played it before.
It's the twenty fourth title in the Fighting Fantasy series. You play a monster, who starts out with no memory, and relies mostly on instinct for the first part of the game. It's a very difficult book, with only one true path to completion, and many, many instant death scenarios. The combat is actually easier than most Fighting Fantasy adventures, as if you roll a double, it's an instant kill. The difficulty comes from finding the right path, and relying on luck, especially for the early "instinct" parts.
There is a lengthy backstory to read before starting the adventure, which I've included in this first attempt. If you've already read the backstory, or just want to go straight to the adventure, skip here 24:59.
It took me a lot of attepts to beat this. I won't be showing every single one, as many of them played out the same due to bad luck or dying in the same battle. Every attempt that revealed something new I'll be showing though. To avoid confusion, I'll number them sequentially in the playlist, even though there might have been other attempts in-between. I'll be playing on Hardcore Hero difficulty.
Each subsequent attempt will be slightly different, though due to the nature of gamebooks, there will be sections that repeat. I'll skim over passages more and more as I go through parts I've read multiple times, so pause if I'm going too fast. This one shouldn't need pausing as it's my first time playing. Note: I won't be doing narration or commentary.
