Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey came out in 1968 a year before the Apollo 11 manned landing on the moon. That movie showed civilians going up to a space station, bureaucrats going to the moon, and scientists going to Jupiter. The future of manned spaceflight is quite different 50 years later. Today's commercial aeronautics is still in its infancy with SpaceX leading with reusable rockets for cargo runs to the International Space Station. NASA will be launching manned capsules by SpaceX and Boeing from U.S. soil for the first time. Chinese will have their own space station and set up a lunar base. Space probes for Jupiter in the next decade may determine if Callisto has a "moonmoon' around it
