Manor Lords Gameplay | EP03 - New Lands
8This week, we turn our attention to a new region. With Eichenhau in our sights, our closest neighbouring region not claimed by our rival lord. This area is rich in food resources and although the land fertility is poor, we should be able to capitalise on berry and wild animal deposits.
Zweiau is becoming stable, but there are still issues to resolve there. With forestry and fuel taking a hit as the town grows, we need to make adjustments to our workforce.
We’re also going to be building sheep farms, clay pits and a few other resource making buildings to really boost the economy and production lines within Zweiau as we look to use the rich industrial resources to fund an army.
To claim our new lands we need influence, we've already built up a little bit with the occasional bandit camp raids, and with the impending bandit attack at the end of the year we stand to gain a lot more, but we have to grow this substantially to make some real claims on the map.
With that in mind we will be a little more aggressive and tactical on the map, making use of mercenary forces as we target bandit camps, getting to them before our rival lord will be crucial.
With a bunch of micromanagement in this episode we've got a lot to do in terms of securing Zweiau so we can move into our new region as soon as its claimed and start building an economy there.
Long term planning, i’d like to keep Eichenau relatively small to maximise the food stores there, using that to generate tithe in order to generate influence rapidly and take on more land. After claiming Eichenau there's only one region left unclaimed after our rivals aggressive land grab in the first couple of years, so the influence cost is doubled when taking on already claimed lands, and potential military skirmishes will be huge!
