[Maplestory / MapleSEA] Image Overlay on OBS for Maplestory Keyboard Guide
Hey guys, I was doing a simple keyboard input overlay for OBS that displays what keys are being pressed and decided to share it with you all!
It's really easy, only 3 files are needed. If you need any help feel free to comment and I'll try my best to reply!
First, the image file of your keyboard shortcut.
Second, the .json file to be uploaded into OBS's Input Overlay.
Lastly, the .png file for the colour "highlight".

~ Instructions ~
1) Download OBS (27.0.0 or later) from the OFFICIAL WEBSITE
2) Download OBS Input Overlay (5.0.0 when I wrote this) from the OFFICIAL WEBSITE
3) Go to your hotkey settings / keyboard shortcuts and SCREENSHOT it!
4) [Most important step] Crop the keyboard photo out. Try to get literally next to the dark borders of the [ESC] button at the top left corner and the dark borders of the [→] button at the bottom right corner.
*As seen in my photo I included in the Dropbox link below. I personally edited out the white background in my video as seen above, you can do that too. You can use simple paint.exe to do this.
**Don't worry if you didn't crop it exactly, it's just so that the files automatically align on OBS. You can manually align the elements on OBS when you add them in later on, adjusting pixel by pixel with the arrow keys.
5) Download the .json file and the .png file of any one of the overlays from my Dropbox link. You can choose any colour overlay you like, for me I chose purple.
7) From now on, I guess you know the basics of OBS so this is just to add an Input Overlay~
8) Create a source group, name it whatever you like. I name my groups "G: xxx"
9) Click [+] under source and add Image. Choose the image file of your keyboard screenshot.
- Place it under your source group.
10) Click [+] under source and add Input Overlay.
- For Overlay image file, it should be the Overlay Full (Colour).png
- For Overlay config file, it should be the Overlay Full (Ver x.xp).json
- Place it under your source group, ABOVE the keyboard image.
11) Align the overlay to your keyboard image. You can check by pressing 1 2 3 and seeing if the highlights appear right above the corresponding keys.
- It should cover the key exactly!
- If it doesn't you can adjust by using the arrow keys to move the overlay slowly.
Oh, remember to run OBS as administrator to allow it to register keys while you are in MapleSEA.
