A video showing you how to map tank-style controls in MAME. I cover the standard way which uses 2 joysticks as well as a trick to map everything to a single 8-way joystick.

Mapping true tank controls to a single 8-way joystick:
Right/Up: UP or LEFT
Right/Down: DOWN or RIGHT
Left/Up: UP or RIGHT
Left/Down: DOWN or LEFT

Mapping 8-way joystick games to true tank controls:
Up= LU&RU or LU or RU
Down=LD&RD or LD or RD
Left=RU&LD or RU or LD
Right=LU&RD or LU or RD
