MARAUDER- 128K (ZX SPECTRUM - FULL GAME + FULL IN-GAME MUSIC)
Zeus presents Marauder (un-emulated) for the zx spectrum, a true classic from the golden era of spectrum gaming which should not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1988
Cor my god, what cracking 128k music! You just got to listen to that in-game music (included at 17:20), one of the most stunning pieces of AY music I've heard.
Developed by Hewson who brought us Exolon, you control a small aircraft that must fight it's way through 6 levels blasting everything in it's way, there are also bonus blocks to shoot, depending on the colour of that block, once you shoot it it will either reward you with say an extra life or even punish you by removing one,...it's all down to timing the colour of the bonus blocks.
The graphics are nothing special, but the playability is very good but that doesn't compare to the 128k music especially the in-game music,...totally brilliant, sadly you can only play with music or sound fx,...not both, so I have uploaded the game with just sound fx and as a bonus I have included the stunning in-game music at the end of this upload including the high score music
The only gripe I have with this game is there is no end sequence, grrrr,...another 8-bit shmup that just loops,..I should be used to it really :-/
I have used the invincibility poke so I could upload the entire game for your viewing pleasure.
I hope all you Spectrum fans enjoy this upload.
Please note: NONE of my game uploads are emulated in any way whatsoever, they are 100% original recordings by myself taken directly from the original hardware the game was intended for, that way you know you're watching the real thing.
I will also always state weather i am using any cheats in the game, if not mentioned then i am not using any.
