I use this in my games when I run Marooned on Marduk. We do it as a "soft rp" fake-out I tell my players I have an ambient audio file for a space plane journey that I would like to use while they describe or act our what their characters would do on a journey like this in real time. Once they realize what is happening they start freak out and listen very intently to see how it all plays out. I'll most likely end my session this way as a cliff hanger and fully describe what's going on and make the rolls for everything later on.
