The Mini-Mario level is as easy as ever--really nothing to say about it. On the other hand, getting the star on the boss is the first truly tricky thing in the game. You need to win the fight without getting hit, and DK will toss up Snapjaws without so much as a warning. You can see that I get a few close calls during the fight. Thankfully you can take your time with it, because that 6th Mini-Mario is what's going to earn you the star.
