Indian equity indices ended on strong note today with Nifty above 24,250.

Biggest Nifty gainers were UltraTech Cement, Apollo Hospitals, Grasim Industries, JSW Steel and Shriram Finance, while losers included HDFC Life, Cipla, NTPC, SBI Life Insurance, L&T.

All the sectoral indices ended in the green with realty, pharma, metal, auto, media up 1 percent each.

The BSE midcap and smallcap indices rose nearly 1 percent each.
