Mars Matrix - Arcade Shoot 'Em Up (Takumi 2000)
An arcade shoot 'em up from the same creators of the Giga Wing series. Developed by Takumi and published by Capcom in 2000, Mars Matrix follows a very similar play style to the classic Giga Wing games.
Story:
In the year 2309 AD, humans begin to colonize Mars. A violent rebel alliance arises on the red planet, sending a declaration of independence to a new world government on Earth. The rebels then amass a large army to combat any revolt from Earth.
In response to the rebellion, Earth's unwavering government sends a fleet of space ships to combat the insurgence, code named "Acid", to crush the rebellion once and for all.
The game ran on Capcom's system 2 arcade hardware. It was first released in Japan in 2000, and later in the North American market in 2001. There was also a console port that was released for the Sega Dreamcast.
