Hello friends, in today's video we dive into the mystery and horrifying world of Martha is Dead. Martha Is Dead is a dark first-person psychological thriller, set in 1944 Italy, that blurs the lines between reality, superstition and the tragedy of war. (Steam)
Today's episode really picks up with the story. We are given the objective to take a photo of Martha to preserve her soul, which is very scary in itself given that the game is so dark. After that, we make our way to the lake in order to retrieve the three cameras that were set up there by Guillia. We make our way through the forest in the middle of the night, with just a torch in our hands as we see ghosts in our way of Martha. Then we make it to the cameras and we collect what we need but on the way back a dark and twisted event unfolds, with some ghostly figure (I presume it's Martha) holding Guillia's arm and not letting go. Then we run and suddenly we end up in our property, inside the room where Martha is located. Opening the coffin, a very gory scene which is apparently censored on PlayStation because of its gore begins. The scene is very gory, full of blood, and an infant is seen. There is clearly some sort of a subliminal message through that scene. Guillia then wakes up and that whole vision is shown as a "nightmare". Although, these nightmares seem to be more than just nightmares because Guillia is seen bloodied up on her bed, which is odd.
Guillia then reads a letter written by Martha in her parents room that states that she is "pregnant". Although, she is sure that she isn't.
Later in the video, Guillia makes her way to the lake as the letter says that she will find something there, but she encounters soldiers of war in the forest, and finds her beloved Lapo dead.
Later a cut scene shows a character that looks like a skeleton, who says that Martha and Guillia were asked who would die first on that day, and both sisters pretended to be Martha, and at the end, they had been smarter than he was and had played him.
Does this mean that we are playing as Martha all along? Is Guillia the sister that had died? Many questions are raised, but so little have been answered.
