Mary Skelter Finale Boss 32: Karma
0Welcome to the final Dungeon. At the end of the first floor you will be stopped by a Marchen guard that seems to always be lead by a Karma enemy... except this one has jacked up stats like crazy and even a new attack... that happens to be Rage rush.
The other enemies are random but he will always have 4 companions and it seems to prefer the Hazmat dragon enemies.
This arena is surrounded by traps so make sure you turn off some of them.
This fight was honestly very difficult and I'm not even on fear mode.
Anyways this boss just being a gatekeeper gives me a chance to talk about major story events so...
***************MASSIVE STORY SPOILERS BELOW**************************
Clara remember the encounter she overheard between Shira and Gallows where Gallows gave Shira a less than desirable ultimatum. She sees Shira outside trying to clear her head only to encounter Gallows herself right outside of camp.
You didn't actually fight Gallows she basically just Separated Shira from the group and gave her an Ultimatum and it's clear she's been keeping a very close watch even if no one else has.
As for Ju it's revealed that Haru and Jabberwock ran a blood test to try and find out more about his identity and it was revealed he's not human. He's actually a mimic of the late Doctor Toshima (Tohjima) of all people. Ultimately this seems to be wrapping up Ju's arc and because he's the reincarnation of the Doctor it does explain why most of the arguments between him and red felt like a father and daughter getting angry at each other.
NOW FOR JACK AND MARY
Jack Confronts Guillotine only for Guillotine to try (and fail) to belittle him... we've graduated from environmentally friendly crap to insects btw... anyways she's forced to retreat because Jack isn't backing down and Alice is about to arrive, remember she has orders not to kill Alice. After the retreat everyone is in shock an executioner would come into base camp now of all times and Charlotte sees Mary's remains and breaks down accordingly as you would if you saw your little sister/daughters murdered body.
Except Mary managed to survive as you see her terrified and traumatized body comes stumbling out of the tent. As it turns out her familiar sensed Guillotine and quickly had Mary use her concealing presence (she is the little matchstick girl afterall) and assumed her place being killed in the process.
Despite Mary's grief there wasn't much time to cry as Jack realized this wasn't Guillotine randomly picking off a member this was a Targeted attack meant to end Mary's life and would have succeeded if Mary didn't have a concealed presence.
