Mass Effect Andromeda - A 2021 Review
Mass Effect Andromeda came out in 2017, to a rather mixed reception. The reception was enough of a blunder for the critically acclaimed series that BioWare confirmed putting the series on hiatus, which seemingly only lasted for a few years. In 2021, BioWare announced and released Mass Effect Legendary Edition, a remaster of all 3 games in the original trilogy.
After playing and completing the trilogy, it felt only right to go back and play Andromeda, and see how well it held up in comparison to the trilogy, and whether or not all the hate was warranted. The gameplay itself is the Andromeda's strongest parts, and the environments are gorgeous. But, alas everything else is of inconsistent quality, and the more I played, the more I realized that Andromeda was not as good as I remember it being.
