A few days ago, GamesBeat's Jeff Grubb reported that Mass Effect 4 (Or 5) will find it's way back to Unreal Engine by the time it heads into full development. The job listing in question has the listed requirements of wanting a Technical Director who has experience with Unreal Engine 4 or higher. This could be a signal that everything is on the table for BioWare with the next Mass Effect game. With Dragon Age 4 development being well underway, it's more likely that the next Mass Effect will make the jump back to Unreal Engine.

Personally, I think this would be a good move, and would alleviate some of my concerns with the next Mass Effect game in the series. It doesn't automatically guarantee the game will be great, or even good, but it would at least allow them to more easily create the type of game they want to make when it comes to the next Mass Effect.
