This is the original game that introduced us to the legendary comander Shepard. He saw his whole unit die on Akuze. He could have some serious emotional scars. Every soldier has scars. Shepard's a survivor. Is that the kind of person we want protecting the galaxy? That's the only kind of person who can protect the galaxy.
Shepard is sent to the human colony of Eden Prime to recover an unearthed Prothean beacon. He finds many of the Geth soldiers still around and rescues sole survivor Ashley. Saren Arterius, a Turian Spectre, activates the beacon before escaping. Shepard finds the beacon is consumed by its power, he sees a vision of the future war just before it explodes!
