Mass Effect (Turian Run) Part 17
Virmire is the game's turning point. 3 major characters could live or die depending on choices. No matter what, someone must go.
Opinion on Virmire, Kaiden, and Ashley: The implementation of the choice is weak story-wise. Gameplay-wise it will affect a member of your party in Mass Effect 3, which could be positive or negative depending on preferences. It's likely that you'll choose the one you prefer more anyway.
Here's the issue: Virmire and anti-Cerberus are so ingrained into both characters after this incident that they wind up losing whatever development was interesting about them in the first place. It wouldn't be an issue if it only applied to one of them and not both. They become cardboard cut-outs of themselves that can't move forward and develop correctly. Instead of Ashley or Kaiden, who do have personal development if you bother talking to them, whoever lives becomes your vitriolic ally that hates you forever. This feels forced because they react in the exact same way and do the exact same thing, and the same 2 subjects keep coming up for both of them. That's my opinion on the matter and I feel it was worth mentioning.
Have you ever wanted to play Mass Effect as something other than a human? Now you can! Well, you could have sooner on the PC version anyway.

This handy Steam guide will tell you how to mess with the files to play as a few different characters other than Shepard. The only downside I've seen is that you can't throw grenades. Fortunately I don't use those!
There were surprisingly few playthroughs I found that changed Shepard to a squadmate. That or I'm the first, but considering the game's popularity and age, I doubt it. If you can point me to one, let me know.
Throughout the playthrough, I will attempt to keep track of deaths, glitches, and game crashes. Each one with a respective funny sound effect. Sound effects used from Jellyvision's 'You Don't Know Jack' PS1 version (not Mock 2). I find it funny.
Hopefully this will be a decent playthrough. Thanks for reading, and enjoy the video!
