Master Of Orion 2: Defeating the Guardian with Lasers!
31Master of Orion II: Battle at Antares. Defeating Orion's Guardian with laser cannons!
Normally Heavy Laser Cannons, with their max 6 damage have no effect against the Guardian because the damage is completely blocked by Class V Shields + Hard Shields (8 dmg blocked). However with HEF (+50% damage) and the leader Diablo, who has Ordnance +15, suddenly the humble Laser is a deadly weapon against the ancient robotic monster.
(This doesn't work in ICE where the Guardian has a Class X Shield, so 13 dmg blocked.)
