I needed a hair cut but I couldn't find an affordable Afro barber shop, so I went back to Africa without leaving Europe 😅. I went to the African neighbourhood of Matongé, Belgium where a basic haircut cost me 10 euro (1,300/=) instead of 30 euro in other neighbourhoods (3,900/=). A good saving but I didn't look at it like that because in Kenya, you can get a basic shave for 50/= 😅.

A fusion of Africans, African culture and a tinge of Belgium, Matongé is a different place compared to the other neighbourhoods of Brussels but its also very trendy and full of vibe.

Color, Congolese music, weaves and wigs shops, some swahili speakers and many congolese people speaking their dialects, and French.

Matongé is an experience you shouldn't miss in the Belgian capital. I cycled through and visited some shops, filmed some stuff. Although I had to stop when I found some people became agitated when they noticed I was filming :-(. Enjoy the video here.

- also, Matongé (Kinshasa) is an area of Kinshasa, DRC.
