Max Payne 3 is a third-person shooter video game, and the third and thus far, final title in the Max Payne series. (Please make another one) The game was released in May 2012 and it was developed primarily by Rockstar Vancouver and was published by Rockstar Games. It is the first game in the Max Payne series, not to be developed by Remedy Entertainment, who developed the previous two games, Max Payne and Max Payne 2.

The game follows the life of protagonist Max Payne nine years after the events of the end of the previous game, as he works as a bodyguard for the wealthy Rodrigo Branco and his family, alongside his friend and fellow ex-detective, Raul Passos. Most of the game takes place in San Paulo in Brazil but some missions do take place in New York, where other games were set.
