Max Payne 3: Glitch Package (Part 8)
More glitches in Max Payne 3!
Points of interest:
1. Footage of guns floating & shooting - This is just basically because Max is out-of-bounds, & becomes invisible.
2. Gun glitch 1 - You can make Max hold 'long guns' while in the 'dual wielding' state (normally he drops his 'long gun' completely during 'duel wielding'). This is not just a graphical glitch, but he fires the long gun as if it were one of the hand guns (complete with 'quick reload' of the long gun).
This glitch is done by entering a cutscene with the 'gun-prompt' glitch active (and while holding dual handguns). At the end of the cutscene, if you (become prone? I forgot) and then pick up another long gun...the game places the long gun in place of one of the dual wielded handguns. (But this is the only area I've tried this).
3. No gun glitch - This is a strange glitch. I used the 'gun-prompt' glitch, to 'carry over' the Rotary Grenade gun up the elevator (because Max normally discards the weapon before going up). However when he reaches the top, he drops both his handgun + Grenade gun down the elevator as the next checkpoint begins.
This results in Max having no gun at all. This is a really strange rare/strange state (Max always has a gun on him). Not having a Gun has some strange effects (most not on vid):
(a) Max CANNOT do a shoot dodge, the button doesn't respond.
(b) Max has no melee attack of any sort.
(c) Max has no 'falling animation', he drops off things in an indifferent looking idle position.
(d) There is no "Last man standing" available to you (even with full painkillers). It's just insta-death for Max.
4. At the nightclub - If you load a level *from scratch* & do a shoot dodge during the end of the loading screen, Max is moving through the level before the game has even started. I've only tried this at the section you see in the video, but could have good speedrun/glitch potential, since you can move ahead of events before the game is even ready for them. Needs to be tested more...
5. Some out-of-bounds footage (where Passos lands the helicopter) - Since the entire floor of this area is seems to be death collision, the only way I could figure to view this area was to pause & inspect the area.
6. Some footage of exploring the room that Fabiana gets killed in. Did this a while ago, but never bothered to capture it & upload it till now. And ah...Fabiana isn't in the room.
7. Out-of-bounds footage at the 2nd Favela section. I didn't show it, but you can explore nearly this entire section from the roof tops. I even sped up the footage, since it's all a bit "samey".
8. On-top-of the Kitchen/Restaurant - From here you can skip the restaurant battle trigger, & as a result the cutscene at the elevator doesn't play. So you can explore previously unseen areas that lay beyond the cutscene trigger.
From there you can jump off the building & get a good view of never before seen streets & buildings.
9. At the end of the vid - Another Sky Jump gone wrong.
