Max Payne 3: Glitch Package (Part 9)
More glitches in Max Payne 3! This will most likely be my last Max Payne 3 video for a while, the game needs a rest (this is why I made this vid longer than usual).
There is still so much to test in this game, I've still got lots of ideas for it so I will return to it for sure. But for now enjoy these recent glitches...
Points of interest:
1. At the boat - Using the Sky Jump to get on top of it for some oob sightseeing. From there you can skip a trigger & confront some enemies with limited A.I.
2. At the Bus refueling terminal - I skipped the battle by using an explosion jump to force Max through the door at the balcony. But - as expected - no triggers are loaded.
3. Out-of-bounds at the Bus terminal - Some dicking around with the hovering cars & some sightseeing. Note that the cars have drivers, you can see their legs sticking out of the bottom of the cars.
4. Some out-of-bounds footage at the destroyed Branco jet.
5. I tried to enter the Branco jet while it was in the hangar, but unfortunately the door has an invisible wall preventing you from entering. (While on the wings you can see inside more clearly, & victor is not in there anyway).
6. At the top of the nightclub (the outdoor-bar where Passos lands the helicopter during a cutscene) - I figured a way to make the game not kill you with death collision (at certain areas). So I managed to do a Sky Jump to the area before the out-door bar, & then safely get down to the bar.
It's a really nicely designed area, but the most interesting part of it is the pool. Since Max was never supposed to be in it, his body reacts strangely while lying on the "water". And...Max can walk on water...
7. At the 1st airport battle - I skipped the battle by doing a Sky Jump to the second floor, but it is an impractical skip since setting the glitch up probably takes longer than doing it normally. Plus my previous skip of this battle is much faster than both methods.
8. At the first battle at the 'organ harvesting' building - I skipped directly from there to one of the upper floors, where the empty pool is. But - as expected - the door to the next area is locked.
The pools fills & empties itself as Max approaches it & walks away from it, if you do this skip.
9. At the top of the building that's rigged to explode - I did a Sky Jump up to the area that the final Boss stands on. But besides some sightseeing, there is not much that can be done up there.
10. An interesting glitch involving 'last man standing' - If you quickly restart at the very moment Max is about to enter 'last man standing', the game carries this over to your restart. So Max enters his last man standing state on restart (note the grey color around Max when I do this).
Anyway, Max will go on about his usual business before suddenly dropping dead. This is because the game is waiting for Max to kill the enemy (who isn't about anymore since you restarted). It's interesting, tho not much can be done with it, BUT this is not the only thing I've noticed that gets carried over into your restart...
11. At the underground carpark - A 'broken aiming glitch', I got this result while doing Sky Jumps in this area. Basically, Max shoots in a totally different direction to where he's facing. Enemies die as long as the reticle is pointing at them, this need to be looked into further.
12. Max unloading a whole clip into this face - This is the result of some sort of breakout that happens when you quickly kick Becker (while doing thge 'early Becker glitch', from one of my previous vids).
Anyway, if you spam kicking quickly enough on Becker. Max's arms & head get stuck in a frame of his "kicking animation", while the rest of his body is running around like "normal". This results in Max pointing one gun directly into his face, while the other is facing the ground. Even tho the game thinks that he is holding both guns out in front of him.
13. The "piano glitch" - I didn't find this particular glitch, there are a few vids on YouTube of it. But basically, if you have a revolver armed. Then fire the last bullet from the chamber at the VERY MOMENT that you activate the prompt. This will make Max try to reload as he plays the piano, resulting in a surreal moment where Max's arm is contorted as he plays.
The main reason I included it is to throw out this question: Has anyone tried to breakout of any other prompts in the game with this method? This is something that needs to be tested at every prompt in the game, who knows what other results are possible?
14. At the end of the vid - I did a massive horizontal Sky Jump across the city, if I can manage to do one in the opposite direction...Max would be able to explore the building next to it (where all the snipers are, would be interesting).
Not in vid: I managed to fall down to the street below...& it looks like another massive city you can explore on foot. But it's hard to avoid the "death collision"...at the moment...
