Max Payne - PS2 - Part 1: The American Dream - Prelude
7The disturbing intro to Max Payne on PS2, for a game from 2001 it doesn't pull any punches. I thought it was about time I dug into my VHS archives as it's been a few months and this gritty 3rd person shooter seemed like decent enough choice. This is of course the game that popularised "bullet time", the time slowing mechanic that worked so well it's still used in games today.
To be fair this PS2 port doesn't look or run as well as other versions but it did the job if like me all you had was a PS2 back then. It's still Max Payne, in fact this is probably the more challenging version due to the lack of quick saves and occasionally chuggy performance. It definitely put my 3rd person shooter skills to the test back in the day.
