I made this game in late 2012 during a Media L3 Diploma. I actually asked my teacher at the time to swap around some units and send me to another college so that I could have a crack at games design/development and I adored it! It was hard having to catch up with the rest of the class who were doing a full course in games design because I had to create a game at the same standard as theirs in 6 weeks compared to their 6 months. So this is what I came up with and I'm pretty proud of it! I achieved a Distinction for this!
It's finally time for me to share my first game with you all, I know it's not the best game in the world but I can't explain to you the joy and pride that I felt developing and designing a game from scratch which can be played and enjoyed by others (even though there's always plenty of room for improvement!)
I had many late coffee-fueled nights during the process of creating this but I don't regret one bit of it!
What is Maze Runner?
My game is based on a book about a boy who wakes up in a small civilisation, called The Glade, built in the middle of an enormous maze. The boy, like the other people who are already there, can not remember how he got there. The only way to regain their freedom and find out what happened to them all is to escape the maze, which only allows them to enter it at night. However there are creatures, named Grievers within it that awaken at night and kill anybody they see trying to find the exit to the maze!
