Despite racing contracts with Ford Advanced Vehicles, Alan Mann and Team Lotus, Sir John still found the time to spend days in California with Steve and Bud Ekins, endlessly riding motocross bikes in the mountains while immersing himself in Hollywood life. Steve was planning a full-scale F1 movie entitled "Day of the Champion"; Sir John was captivated by the energy of West Coast and the Hippie movement. In this video Sir John recalls meeting Steve's "paintshop guy", Kenny Howard, and being amazed by his ability to write words backwards...
