In a futuristic world, Earth is host to an otherworldly invasion of Mecha-Ude—sentient mechanical beings resembling high-tech, living appendages that need human hosts to survive. These creatures come in various forms, each with unique abilities and temperaments. Though some Mecha-Ude are peaceful, many end up in the hands of humans who use them for criminal or malicious activities, sparking conflict across the world.

The story centers on Hikaru Amatsuga, a seemingly ordinary middle-schooler, who inadvertently becomes the host of Alma, a rare and powerful Mecha-Ude with a lost memory and unparalleled abilities. Alma has bonded itself to Hikaru’s hoodie, and Hikaru discovers that Alma is known among Mecha-Ude as the "Trigger Arm"—an extremely sought-after Mecha-Ude capable of awakening latent powers within its host. However, this bonding brings Hikaru into a new world of danger.

Recognizing Alma’s potential, the resistance group ARMS—dedicated to fighting dangerous Mecha-Ude and their users—takes Hikaru under their wing. Together with ARMS, Hikaru learns to wield Alma's powers and fight back against The Kagami Group, a sinister faction that aims to control Alma and its legendary power. The Kagami Group’s leader, Ryo Kagami, has a chilling ambition: to use Mecha-Ude as weapons of global dominance and eradicate any resistance from Earth or beyond.
